A Few Words About Me
As a premier Chicago criminal lawyer, attorney Joel A. Whitehouse was trained and attended Kent College of Law where he received his Jurist Doctor with High Honors and received the American Jurist Prudence Award in Criminal Procedure. After Law School, Mr. Whitehouse spent almost 9 years as an Assistant Cook County State's Attorney where he prosecuted cases in the prestigious Felony Criminal Trial Division. In the course of his appointment as an Assistant State's Attorney, Mr. Whitehouse tried in excess of 500 cases. Joel A. Whitehouse left the State's Attorneys office in 1993 in order to join a Chicago Law firm with an established large complex state and federal criminal law practice.
Drawing on his experiences, contacts and relationships with prosecutors, law enforcement and judges within the criminal justice system, Mr. Whitehouse opened the Whitehouse Law Firm in 1997. He knows the inner workings of investigations conducted by law enforcement and how prosecutors assemble their cases against a suspect. In fact, based on Mr. Whitehouse's extensive background and training in criminal investigations, the State of Illinois granted him a Private Detective License in 2002. Mr. Whitehouse defends clients accused of criminal charges in Illinois and throughout the country. Mr. Whitehouse is known for conducting a thorough and independent investigation separate and apart from law enforcement. He leaves no stone unturned when defending his clients whether they are fighting a misdemeanor DUI, complex white collar fraud case, or a high profile murder case. Attorney Whitehouse understands his client's interests and he will work hard to keep them out of jail and free of a criminal record.
